Dr. Wen-Cheng Liu currently serves as a distinguished professor of the National United University and the president of the Taiwan Group on Earth Observations (TGEO) and the Chinese Institute of Engineers, Taichung Chapter. He received B.Sc., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1986, 1989, and 1999, respectively. His research interests mainly include saltwater intrusion; estuaries and coasts;  dissolved inorganic carbon; global carbon budget; methane Emission; storm surges and waves; hydrology; environmental fluid mechanics.
