My research efforts are directed toward energy planning and the environmental implications of energy systems, with particular emphasis on the complex interconnections between energy and climate change. My studies focus on the socioeconomic and environmental impacts of deploying renewable energy sources—especially solar and wind power—in the Brazilian semi-arid region. Within this framework, I am particularly interested in understanding how the energy transition unfolds in vulnerable contexts, addressing the multifaceted challenges of energy poverty, and exploring the broader relationships between energy, space, and society. Through this line of inquiry, I seek to contribute to the advancement of more equitable and sustainable energy strategies, particularly in historically underserved territories.
