I am a translational scientist and Chief Scientific Officer specializing in neuroscience, molecular biology, nanomedicine, and rare diseases. I hold a PhD and MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a BSc in Biochemistry from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. I am currently a Senior Researcher at the University of Basel and Chief Scientific Officer at NanoZymeX AG, where my work focuses on nanoparticle-based CNS drug delivery, blood–brain barrier transport, enzyme replacement therapies, and disease models for neurodegeneration. I am particularly proud of my research on mannose-6-phosphate-tagged liposomes for brain delivery, mutant huntingtin propagation across human neuromuscular synapses, and APP–GABA\(_B\) receptor interactions in Alzheimer’s disease. In 2025, I received the Find for Rare Grant of CHF 50,000 to support research in rare diseases.
