Dr. Ashok Kakkar is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry, McGill University, Montréal, QC, Canada. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada. He subsequently carried out post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Cambridge (UK) and Northwestern University (USA). His group focuses on developing chemical methodologies for a variety of well-defined nanostructures that can help to resolve topical problems in nanomedicine. His research utilizes a convergent approach to obtain a detailed understanding of complex architectures for applications in biology, and their efficacy in therapeutic interventions. His group has published extensively in the area of nanoparticles for drug delivery and diagnostics.
