Marcelo Menossi earned his degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in 1989 and completed his Ph.D. at the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain, in 1994. He has been a professor at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas since 1998 and became a Full Professor in 2013. His primary research areas include sugarcane biotechnology, focused on abiotic stress, second-generation bioethanol, and genome editing.
