**Celestino García Gómez, Ph.D.** is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Mexico, where he conducts research in biotechnology, environmental engineering, and sustainable bioprocesses. He received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora, his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sonora, and his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora. His research focuses on microalgae biotechnology, biomass valorization, carbon capture, wastewater treatment, downstream processing, bioactive compound recovery, and circular bioeconomy. His recent work emphasizes the development of integrated biorefineries for recovering high-value products such as carotenoids, phycobiliproteins, exopolysaccharides, and biofertilizers from microalgal biomass cultivated using industrial emissions and wastewater. Dr. García Gómez has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and actively serves as reviewer for several international journals. He is a member of Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNII, Level I) and has led multiple research projects in collaboration with industry focused on sustainable technologies and environmental innovation.
