My interest is on the regulation of adult hippocampal neurogenesis at the cellular and molecular levels by environmental enrichment, antidepressants, and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. Also, we explore the benefits of environmental enrichment, antidepressants and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on mood-related behavior, cognitive and social behavior in rodents, and the neural circuits involved in behavior in rodents. In my lab, we used controlled in vitro systems of progenitor cells and microglia cells from murines and humans to complement our in vivo studies.
