Prof. Franco Vazza is an internationally recognized expert on the physics of large-scale structures, including shocks, turbulence, cosmic ray acceleration, and non-thermal radiation processes. He obtained his Master's degree in Astronomy from the University of Padova in 2004, received his Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Bologna in 2009. Since 2020 he is Associate Professor (permanent) in the Physics & Astronomy Department at the University of Bologna. In 2017 he received a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to conduct the MAGCOW project, which investigates the origin of cosmic magnetism.
