Hypertension is one of the most important chronic diseases worldwide. Hypertension is a critical condition encountered frequently in daily life, forming a significant area of service in Primary Health Care (PHC), which healthcare professionals often confront. It serves as a precursor to many critical illnesses and can lead to fatalities if not addressed promptly. Our study underscores the importance of this critical issue by analyzing articles related to hypertension in the PHC research area from the Web of Science Core Collection using bibliometric methods and machine learning techniques, specifically topic analyses using the latent Dirichlet allocation method. The analysis was conducted using Python Scikit-learn, Gensim, and Wordcloud Libraries, the VosViewer program, and the Bibliometrix R Biblioshiny library. Our findings revealed a steady increase in publication output in hypertension-related research. Analysis shows that hypertension-related research in the PHC research area is clustered into 8 groups: (1) management of hypertension in PHC, risk factors, and complications; (2) psychiatric disorders and hypertension; (3) pediatric and pregnancy hypertension; (4) environmental factors and living conditions; (5) sex and age effects on hypertension; (6) COVID-19 and hypertension; (7) behavioral risk factors, quality of life, and awareness; and (8) current treatment methods and guidelines. Research on hypertension has focused intensively on kidney disease, obesity, pregnancy, cardiovascular risk, heart disease, calcium channel blockers, body mass index, amlodipine, mortality, risk factors, hyperlipidemia, depression, and resistant hypertension. This study represents the first and comprehensive bibliometric analysis of hypertension in the PHC research area. Annual publication volumes have steadily increased over the years. In recent years, topics such as social determinants, patient attendance, self-management, diabetes mellitus, COVID-19, telemedicine, type 2 diabetes, and noncommunicable diseases have garnered significant interest in the field of PHC services.

In the contemporary fight against cancer, primary health care (PHC) services hold a significant and critical position within the healthcare system. This study, as one of the most detailed investigations into cancer research in primary care, comprehensively evaluates cancer studies from the perspective of PHC using bibliometric techniques and machine learning. The dataset for the analyses was sourced from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database on March 20, 2024. The Bibliometrix package within the R programming environment, alongside the Biblioshiny application, and VOSViewer software were employed for the bibliometric analyses. In this study, Latent Dirichlet Allocation was utilized as a prominent topic modeling algorithm. The implementation of this technique utilized Python along with the SciKit-Learn and Gensim libraries, ensuring robust model development and evaluation. The 2040 articles were produced by a total of 6705 different authors, 2166 different affiliations, and 75 different countries. Cancer survivors are more vulnerable and need more sensitive health services. The most intensively studied 3 cancer types in the PHC, listed by prevalence, are colorectal cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer. Additionally, prominent research topics in PHC include cancer screening, diagnosis, early detection, prevention, education, genetic factors and family history, risk factors, symptoms/signs, preventive medicine, referral and consultation, chronic disease management and health services research for cancer patients, health care disparities, palliative care, and communication with patients in PHC. Family physicians, being the first point of contact with the public, play a crucial role in preventing cancer cases, caring for patients with active cancer diagnoses, supporting cancer survivors in their post-cancer lives, and identifying and referring cancer cases at the earliest stages. However, cancer has many types, each with its own distinct symptoms, as well as similar types to each other. At this point, periodic educational training for doctors on cancer by health authorities, regular publication of cancer-related guidance resources by the central healthcare system, development of integrated decision support tools used by physicians during patient care, and the creation of informative mobile applications for cancer prevention or post-cancer life for patients have been considered highly critical.

INTRODUCTION: Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women and the most common cause of death. In the study, it is aimed to evaluate the screening results of the people who participated in the breast cancer screening program carried out on women aged 40-69 in 2016-2019 in Izmir. METHODS: In our study, the mammography results of women aged 40-69 who were invited to the Cancer Early Diagnosis and Screening Center (KETEM) and Mobile KETEM were evaluated. The data were collected retrospectively from the MM TARAMA software program by the researchers, compared with the Cancer Registry data and evaluated with the SPSS 20.0 program. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage) and chi-square test were used in the analysis. A value of p<0.01 was considered significant. RESULTS: There are 98117 people registered to the scanned software.5657 of these people were positive for screening and 346 (0.4%) people were diagnosed with breast cancer. The recall rate is 5.8%. Screening rates in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 were 5.3%, 10.2%, 9.7% and 11.3%. The mean age is 54.2 (±7.64). In 62.4% of the mass is in the upper outer quadrant. Histopathologically, 70.5% of them are invasive ductal carcinoma. Tumor diameter of 75.4% (n=261) was 2 cm or less. There was no lymph node involvement in 54.6% and no metastasis in 76.3%. Summary TNM of the diagnosed cases was localized in 61.3%. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Breast cancer screening rates have increased over the years in our province. As the participation rate increases, the rate of catching at an early stage also increases. For this purpose, it is important to organize non-formal education programs. Histopatolojik olarak %70,5’i invaziv duktal karsinomdur. %75,4’nün (n=261) tümör çapı 2 cm ve altındadır. %54,6’ sında lenf nodu tutulumu ve %76,3’ünde metastaz yoktur. Tanı alan olguların özet TNM’si %61,3 ‘ü lokalizedir. TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: İlimizde meme kanseri tarama oranları yıllar içinde artmıştır. Katılım oranı arttıkça erken evrede yakalama oranı da artmaktadır. Bu amaçla yaygın eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi önemlidir.
