George Dimopoulos is a professor of Critical Care and Head of the 3rd Department of Critical Care Medicine at EVGENIDIO Hospital and Medical School at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. His postgraduate work included research in fungal infections, sepsis, and severe infections in critically ill patients, as well as severe infections in patients with human immunodeficiency virus. He is the former Education Officer of the ESGCIP Critically Ill Patients Study Group of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and a member of the EMA committee and the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM).
