Dr. Natalia Buzzi

Biography

Natalia Sol Buzzi is a researcher specializing in aquatic ecotoxicology and biochemical responses to environmental pollutants. She obtained her B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina) in 2004. In 2009, she received her Ph.D. in Biological Science from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, where she conducted research on biological chemistry in relation to vertebrates and cell cultures. She has held research positions at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET). She has participated in national projects focused on emerging contaminants, metals and microplastics, and ecotoxicology. Her current research interests include biochemical responses of model species exposed to microplastics and other anthropogenic stressors, with a particular focus on integrating biochemical and physiological endpoints into environmental risk assessment. She also conducted studies on the field, analyzing metals and microplastics in organisms, water and sediments, and the biochemical responsed in organisms. She has recently been awarded a scholarship to undertake stays abroad.
