Biography: Dr. Farach-Carson’s work integrates extracellular matrix biology with tissue engineering, cancer metastasis, and musculoskeletal biology. Dr. Farach-Carson was elected as a Fellow of AAAS in 2010 and elected as a member of the College of Fellows for AIMBE in 2018. She believes that including trainees on collaborative teams ensures project success in research productivity and educational goals. Before coming to UTHealth School of Dentistry with a State of Texas Translational STARS award in 2016, Dr. Farach-Carson was awarded the Presidential Mentoring Award from Rice University, reflecting the contributions of her many trainees enjoying successful careers in academia, industry, biotech, scientific writing, medicine, dentistry, and research agencies including NIH, private foundations, and regulatory agencies including the FDA.
