Climate factors have an impact on plant life cycle, yield, productivity, economy and profitability of agricultural production. There are not a lot of studies on understanding of influence of climate factors variation on maize yield in agro-ecological conditions of Serbia. The aim of this paper is analysis of variation of climatic factors over a long-time period, as well as assessment of impact of the examined climate parameters on maize yield in two localities in the Republic of Serbia. For the analysis of climatic factors (temperature, precipitation, sunshine, humidity) in the region of Central Serbia and Vojvodina, the data of meteorological stations Kragujevac and Sombor during two thirty-year periods (1961–1990 and 1991–2020) were used. In order to determine the existence and strength of the relationship between the observed climatic factors and maize yield, a correlation analysis of these indicators for the period 2005–2020 years, was performed. In the period 1991–2020, the average values of temperature were annually increased for 0.046 °C in Kragujevac and for 0.05 °C in Sombor, and in the same period the average value of sunshine on an annual level was increased for 1.3 h in Kragujevac and for 5.01 h in Sombor, 2020 in comparison to average values in period of 1961–1990. The humidity was decline annually for 1.3 in Kragujevac and for 3.4 in Sombor in period 1991–2020 in comparison to average humidity in period of 1961–1990. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the maize yield was significantly lower in the years with expressed high temperatures and precipitation deficit. Based on these studies, established effect of climate change on maize yield and that this demand developing adaptation agricultural practice through creating maize hybrids and varieties with greater adaptability and improvement of agrotechnic measure.
During the past few decades many types of research have been studied Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) but the most of these researches were focused on CSR effect on enterprise performance, but less attention has been given to the public perception of CSR and their opinions towards using new technologies, especially in food production. The purpose of this research was to investigate the public perception of CSR and their opinions regard the effect of new technologies in food production, with emphasize on genetically modified food (GMF). Empirical research was conducted in Vojvodina, as the region of Serbia, where food production is a dominant industry. The results showed that respondents mostly identify CSR with company's responsibility and moral obligation to society, especially for food production companies and recognize GMF as not offering benefits and unsafe. The trust in key actors is missing. In this regard, CSR awareness campaigns needs to be strengthened.
Communication, job satisfaction and job performance are important factors of organizational business success. Communication can improve job satisfaction and this way it can increase work motivation. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to present the significant findings regarding the relationships between communication satisfaction, job satisfaction and job performance that researchers report on since 1970. Five studies (i.e. meta-analyses) that tested the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance and 12 studies that tested the impact of communication satisfaction on both job satisfaction and job performance were selected (search by key terms in databases ScIndex and Google Scholar. The results of the original studies of the meta-analyses mostly indicated that a low or inconsistent relationship exists between job satisfaction and job performance. However, all of the meta-analyses confirmed that a significant and moderate relationship exists between these variables. The relationship is not weak (the correlation is not low) as it has long been considered. Conformity of the constructs, the same way of observing and measuring the variables, and adequate method of reliability estimates of performance ratings (the inter-rater reliability) gave more reliable results and stronger correlation. As there was a lack of consistency in testing the same variables as moderators in the original studies, it was difficult to determine the moderators of this relationship. The empirical studies confirmed that a significant and strong relationship exists between communication satisfaction and both job satisfaction and job performance. Besides, job satisfaction-job performance relationship was moderated by communication dimensions such as accuracy of information and lateral communication. Reconsidering the relationships between these variables should remain an important research topic in order to determine the nature of these relationships and the conditions under which these variables are related.
Global economy still records a decline in FDI. The main causes are increased economic instability and geopolitical risks. Given the continued negative trend, it is clear that it is necessary to reform the investment policies at the national, regional, bilateral, multilateral and international level, to ensure sustainable economic development. Key elements of the reforms are: to provide instruments to reduce risks, create mechanisms of responsible investment, improve the structural coherence and promote regional investments. Refer to the current dates of the sectors investments (according to the report of UNCTAD from 2015th) shows that the services sector recorded double growth compared to the investment in the manufacturing sector in 2012. Also, if we take into consideration the fact that investment in IT sector investment involves three aspects: transactional (minimizing costs), strategic (innovation technologies, achieving competitiveness) and information (improving access to information and communications), it may be assumed that the reforms in the investment policies should be directly correlated with investments in information technology.
Covid-19 has had a significant effect on labour market metrics across the globe. This article aims to contribute to the understanding of the pandemic’s adverse impact on labour markets in the western Balkans and the need to take appropriate measures to mitigate this effectively in the forthcoming period. Using a spread of data, we analyse and compare the distributional impacts of the pandemic recession in western Balkans labour markets in terms of the unemployment rate and the average annual growth in real minimum wages. Our analysis shows a significant deterioration of labour market trends - not least in comparison with the picture of 2019 which was broadly much more positive - which has led to increased government spending on social protection measures. This needs to be continued, not least as regards vulnerable individuals, including young people, as the pandemic continues its track. On the basis of our results, and to deal with the structural challenges presented by Balkans labour markets, there is a need for further reform and updating of regulation, social protection and policies in the labour market.
