Lucia Reig studied Technical Architecture and Materials Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València. She obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Materials at UPV. She teaches the Technical Architecture Degree program at Universitat Jaume I, in the field of Construction Materials and Techniques. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, both in the field of porous titanium with reduced stiffness (subject of her doctoral thesis) and the development of low-CO2 cements and reusing ceramic waste to develop new construction materials, the field that she mainly focuses her research on nowadays. She has participated in several research projects. She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Bath (UK) and the Universidade Estadual Paulista, Campus of Ilha Solteira (state of Sao Paulo, Brazil).
