Dr. Thota Sivasankar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) area of NIIT University, India. He received M.Tech. degree in Remote Sensing from Andhra University, and Ph.D. degree on Micro-wave Remote Sensing from I.I.T. (I.S.M.), Dhanbad while he was working at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO. His primary research focuses on the use of microwave remote sensing for various applications including crop growth monitoring, soil moisture retrieval, forest above ground biomass estimation and, flood mapping and monitoring.
