Despite the many past research conducted in the Cloud Computing field, some challenges still exist related to workload balancing in cloud-based applications and specifically in the Infrastructure as service (IaaS) cloud model. Efficient allocation of tasks is a crucial process in cloud computing due to the restricted number of resources/virtual machines. IaaS is one of the models of this technology that handles the backend where servers, data centers, and virtual machines are managed. Cloud Service Providers should ensure high service delivery performance in such models, avoiding situations such as hosts being overloaded or underloaded as this will result in higher execution time or machine failure, etc. Task Scheduling highly contributes to load balancing, and scheduling tasks much adheres to the requirements of the Service Level Agreement (SLA), a document offered by cloud developers to users. Important SLA parameters such as Deadline are addressed in the LB algorithm. The proposed algorithm is aimed to optimize resources and improve Load Balancing in view of the Quality of Service (QoS) task parameters, the priority of VMs, and resource allocation. The proposed LB algorithm addresses the stated issues and the current research gap based on the literature's findings. Results showed that the proposed LB algorithm results in an average of 78% resource utilization compared to the existing Dynamic LBA algorithm. It also achieves good performance in terms of less Execution time and Makespan.

Providing an efficient communication for the underwater wireless sensor networks is a significant problem due to the unique characteristics of such environments. Radio signal cannot propagate well in deep water, and we have to replace this with the acoustic channel. This replacement results in many issues like high latency due to less propagation speeds, low bandwidths and high error probability. In addition, new features like node mobility with water currents and 3-dimensional space brings additional challenges to the underwater sensor network (UWSN) protocol design. Many routing protocols have been proposed for such environments but most of them considered that the complete dimensional location of all the sensor nodes is already known through a localization process, which itself is a challenging task in UWSNs. In this paper, we propose a novel routing protocol, called Hop-by-Hop Dynamic Addressing Based (H2-DAB), in order to provide scalable and time efficient routing. Our routing protocol will take advantage of the multiple-sink architecture of the underwater wireless sensor networks. The novelty of H2-DAB is that, it does not require any dimensional location information, or any extra specialized hardware compared to many other routing protocols in the same area. Our results show that H2-DAB effectively achieves the goals of higher data deliveries with optimal delays and energy consumptions.

This research focuses on evaluating whether a website is legitimate or phishing. Our research contributes to improving the accuracy of phishing website detection. Hence, a feature selection algorithm is employed and integrated with an ensemble learning methodology, which is based on majority voting, and compared with different classification models including Random forest, Logistic Regression, Prediction model etc. Our research demonstrates that current phishing detection technologies have an accuracy rate between 70% and 92.52%. The experimental results prove that the accuracy rate of our proposed model can yield up to 95%, which is higher than the current technologies for phishing website detection. Moreover, the learning models used during the experiment indicate that our proposed model has a promising accuracy rate.

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 began with the breakthrough technological advances in 5G, and artificial intelligence has innovatively transformed the manufacturing industry from digitalization and automation to the new era of smart factories. A smart factory can do not only more than just produce products in a digital and automatic system, but also is able to optimize the production on its own by integrating production with process management, service distribution, and customized product requirement. A big challenge to the smart factory is to ensure that its network security can counteract with any cyber attacks such as botnet and Distributed Denial of Service, They are recognized to cause serious interruption in production, and consequently economic losses for company producers. Among many security solutions, botnet detection using honeypot has shown to be effective in some investigation studies. It is a method of detecting botnet attackers by intentionally creating a resource within the network with the purpose of closely monitoring and acquiring botnet attacking behaviors. For the first time, a proposed model of botnet detection was experimented by combing honeypot with machine learning to classify botnet attacks. A mimicking smart factory environment was created on IoT device hardware configuration. Experimental results showed that the model performance gave a high accuracy of above 96%, with very fast time taken of just 0.1 ms and false positive rate at 0.24127 using random forest algorithm with Weka machine learning program. Hence, the honeypot combined machine learning model in this study was proved to be highly feasible to apply in the security network of smart factory to detect botnet attacks.
