Prof. Roberta Bongiovanni received her M.Sc. in Colloid and Interface Science, University of Bristol, 1989 and her Ph.D in Physical Chemistry, University of Bristol, 1998. She used to be an Associate Professor of Chemistry at DISAT, Politecnico di Torino, Italy, from 2003 to 2010. Now, she is a Full Professor of Chemistry at DISAT, Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Her main scientific interests have been focused on the synthesis of polymeric networks in the form of films via photoinduced processes and their characterization. Her fields of application are protective and functional coatings, membranes, and materials for photolithographic and 3D printing processes; the selective modification of the surface of polymers both by cophotopolymerization and photografting of monomers; coatings and textiles; the preparation of nanocomposites and hybrid materials via photoprocesses, including the modification of both the inorganic fillers and the polymeric matrices; and functional and smart coatings and membranes.
