Biography

Antonino Famulari graduated with merit in Chemistry from the Università degli Studi di Milano. He completed his PhD in Molecular Modeling at the same university in 1998. He also spent almost a year in foreign countries, conducting research at the University of Liverpool, Iowa State University, and the University of Copenhagen. He was awarded two post-doctoral research grants, one by CNR in 1998 and another by the Università degli Studi di Milano from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, he was appointed as a Permanent Researcher at the CNR center ISTM (Scienze e Tecnologie Molecolari) in Milan. In December 2001, he joined the research group of Prof. Allegra and Prof. Meille at the Politecnico di Milano, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor (formerly Assistant Professor since 2001). Antonino Famulari’s research interests include the structure and morphology of polymers, oligomers, and molecules, with a particular focus on innovative materials in the field of organic electronics, organic heterojunction photovoltaics, and sensor and optical applications. He also studies polymer/clay composites and nano-composites to establish structure–property relationships. Additionally, his research looks at intermolecular interactions in ionic liquids and systems of biological interests.
