Gulraiz Akhter (agulraiz@qau.edu.pk) is a Professor at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad. He has served as Chairman of Department of Earth Sciences at QAU. He holds a Masters in Geophysics (1984) and a Ph.D. in Hydrogeology from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan. His areas of interest are exploration geophysics, water well design and water quality analysis, numerical groundwater modeling remote sensing, and GIS. He is the author of more than sixty refereed international papers on geophysics and hydrogeology, is a reviewer of many peer reviewed journals, and is an active member of several national and international institutions and scientific committees.
