Sangyun Lee is a postdoctoral researcher at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), Republic of Korea. Dr. Lee received an M.S. (2021) and a Ph.D. (2024) in Civil Engineering from Inha University, with research on optimal TBM disc-cutter spacing using discrete element method (DEM) analysis and on automatic buried-pipeline detection in ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data via transfer learning. Current research at KICT focuses on AI-based infrastructure safety monitoring, including analysis models for slope IoT sensor data and computer-vision models for CCTV-based slope surveillance.
