Giulia Bivona obtained a degree at the Palermo School of Medicine, University of Palermo, summa cum laude in 2003. From 2004 to 2005, she received training at the Clinical Biochemistry laboratory of the University Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna, working on Proton and Phosphorus Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (+H MRS, 31 P MRS). In 2006, she was a clinical biochemistry investigator at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Palermo. She is currently an Associate Professor in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Palermo (2022 to date) and a Medical Director of the University Polyclinic of Palermo in CLADIBIOR, where she works as an analyst for the diagnosis of acute and chronic leukemia through cytofluorimetric assays (2020 to date). Her scientific interest is currently focused on neuroimmune networks, microglia-to-neuron communication, and Alzheimer's disease.
