Dr Emilio Garcia-Taengua is Associate Professor in Structures at the University of Leeds. He is a civil and structural engineer specialised in concrete technology and concrete structures. His areas of expertise include rheology and engineering properties of cementitious materials, concrete mix design, data science and artificial intelligence applied to concrete, nanoparticles in cement-based materials, self-consolidating and fibre-reinforced concretes. He is an active member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and RILEM. He serves in editorial boards and as reviewer for numerous well-known journals concerned with construction materials.
