Prof. Dr. Michael Tiemann is a chair holder (W3 professor) at the University of Paderborn and a visiting professor for the Sino-German Technical Faculty (CDTF) of Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) in Qingdao (China) since 2011. He received his PhD degree from the Institute of Inorganic and Applied Chemistry, University of Hamburg. His team's research lies, on the one hand, in the synthesis of new nanostructured materials and, on the other hand, in the investigation of the special functions of these materials for various applications; these functions include, for example, nanoporous metal oxides and MOFs.
