Michele Tonelli is Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Genoa (Italy), since 2020. He received his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 2007. For over 15 years, he has gained experience in the synthesis of heterocycle compounds endowed with different biological activities. His main research interests are in the field of antiviral (virus-directed and host-directed), antiprotozoal and anticancer agents. He is also working on TAAR1 ligands and MTDLs for Alzheimer’s disease. He collaborates with several national and international research groups.
