Dr. Tarik Tagma is an associate professor of geology and geochemistry at Sultan Moulay Slimane University, Morocco. His research lies at the interface of hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, environmental geosciences, and water-resource management. He is particularly interested in the functioning, quality, and vulnerability of groundwater systems in arid and semi-arid regions, with a special focus on Moroccan aquifers. His work integrates geological, hydrochemical, isotopic, geophysical, and geospatial approaches to investigate groundwater recharge processes, salinization mechanisms, drought risk, and the impacts of environmental and climate change on water resources. He has participated in several international research projects and collaborations involving institutions from Europe and North America. In recent years, his research has increasingly incorporated GIS, remote sensing, and spatial modeling techniques to support groundwater exploration, environmental monitoring, and sustainable water-resource management. Dr. Tagma has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications in the fields of hydrogeology and environmental sciences, with recent research focusing on the integration of geospatial technologies for groundwater assessment and sustainable water-resource management.
