I am a freshwater phytoplankton ecologist at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. My research focuses on the composition, structure and ecology of freshwater phytoplankton in lakes, reservoirs and wetlands. My work includes phytoplankton monitoring and ecological assessment, spatial and temporal variation in phytoplankton communities, and the use of functional-group approaches to examine their responses to environmental conditions.
