Prof. Yuko Ohno received a Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Medical Engineering, University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1985. She was a Research Fellow with the National Institute of Statistical Mathematics, the Research Institute of the National Cancer Center, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Neuroscience. She has been a professor at the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University since 1995 and is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science and professor emeritus at Osaka University. During this period, she also served as Assistant to the President of Osaka University and Visiting Professor at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics. She has also served as President of the Japanese Society for Wellbeing Science, Director of the Japanese Dementia Society, Director of the Disaster Recovery Institute of Japan, and director of various other societies. Her research interests include mathematical health science, operational metrics in medicine and health care services, cancer statistics, more recently, somatosensory and brain function experimental science.
