Dr. Silvia Gonella is a registered nurse and has worked as a clinical nurse in oncological and medical settings. She is currently responsible for research activities at the City of Health and Science University Hospital of Turin, Italy. Silvia has a post-graduate specialization diploma in Bioethics and a Ph.D. in Nursing Studies and Public Health. She has been part of multi-disciplinary, palliative care, national, and international research groups such as the Working Group for the ESMO Clinical Practice Guideline on Cancer Cachexia and the mySupport study, and she was a member of the Early Career Research Committee of this project. She is currently engaged in the Horizon Europe-funded In-Touch project. Her main research areas are end-of-life communication in nursing homes, symptom management in cancer patients, and improving nursing students’ clinical learning experiences.
