Jianrong Li graduated from Zhejiang University's Department of Chemical Engineering biochemical professional. He has served as an Engineer at Hangzhou Piling Co., Ltd. and as Dean of the School of Food and Biological Engineering at Zhejiang Gongshang University. Since April 2011, he has been the Vice President of Bohai University and a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Georgia University. He has trained more than 100 postdoctoral, doctoral, and Master's degree students.
