My scientific interests focus on the study of dietary and lifestyle patterns, human eating behaviours and nutritional determinants of health and diet-related diseases. An important area is the development of dietary assessment methods and the development of food frequency questionnaires (FFQs). I am the expert in nutritional assessment who sets trends in this area, e.g. I introduce the analysis of dietary patterns (DPs) to Polish scientific literature and provided evidence for the need for a broader perspective in the assessment of nutrition, i.e. identification of dietary-lifestyle patterns (DLPs). This holistic approach in the analysis of the association between diet, lifestyle and health was used in the context of the risk of diet-related diseases, including osteoporosis, overweight and obesity, breast and lung cancers, heart and vascular diseases. I am the author/co-author of several FFQs adapted to the specificity of the Polish diet, which are available for researchers and individual users at DietTools4U website: https://diettools4u.uwm.edu.pl/ ; https://diettools4u.uwm.edu.pl/en/ . I am the author of the concept of the mobile application "Dietary Diary", which promotes nutritional prevention recommendations and motivates users to follow them and improve the quality of their diet (available free of charge).
