Objectives: to analyze the insertion of environmental issues in the postgraduate stricto sensu in nursing in Brazil. Methods: quali-quantitative research, of exploratory approach, with documental research in the Sucupira Platform and in sites of the 112 courses stricto sensu in Nursing in Brazil, in 2018. We analyzed the curricular matrixes; course menus; teaching profile; dissertations and thesis (2004-2016); and bibliographic productions of the four-year evaluation 2013-2016. The analysis of quantitative data was performed by statistical methods; and qualitative data, by the Content Analysis Technique, outlined by Bardin. Results: the results demonstrate incipiency in the treatment of environmental issues. Regarding the theme, we highlight those that refer to socio-historical-cultural aspects in relation to the more direct environmental approach and facilitator of environmental conservation and consequent promotion of health. Final Considerations: The analysis allows identifying the fragility of the environmental approach in the analyzed programs, being necessary to improve the cross-sectionality of environmental issues.

Objective: To investigate the main anthropogenic actions responsible for the contamination of water bodies by heavy metals, identifying the most recurrent elements, their sources, and their environmental and health impacts through a systematic literature review based on scientific publications from 2015 to 2025. Method: This is a systematic review with a qualitative approach, conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Specific descriptors were used in the Scopus database, resulting in the identification of 160 articles. After screening, 12 studies aligned with the research objective were included for detailed data analysis. Results and Discussion: The most frequently detected heavy metals were cadmium, lead, copper, nickel, chromium, zinc, arsenic, iron, manganese, and mercury. The main identified sources of contamination included mining, industry, agriculture, urban waste, and natural erosion. The impacts include ecological risks, food chain contamination, and serious diseases. Research Implications: The research highlights the urgency of implementing environmental control measures, such as remediation technologies, continuous monitoring, and integrated public policies. Understanding these sources and consequences is essential for developing prevention and mitigation strategies aimed at public health and environmental preservation. Originality/Value: This study provides an updated and comprehensive synthesis of the international scientific literature on heavy metal water contamination, emphasizing the need for evidence-based cross-sectoral actions. The analysis contributes to the field of environmental management and public health by proposing sustainable solutions.

Objective: To analyze the main challenges and strategies adopted by university hospitals to promote sustainable management of healthcare waste, focusing on sanitary safety, environmental sustainability, and the protection of healthcare professionals. Method: A qualitative systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA protocol, with a search in the Scopus database between 2014 and 2024, using specific descriptors and inclusion criteria that resulted in the selection and analysis of eight scientific articles. Results and Discussion: Barriers such as improper waste segregation, lack of training, and occupational risks were identified. Positive strategies include the use of clean technologies, environmental education, recyclable separation, and the adoption of sustainable practices based on Life Cycle Assessment. Research Implications: The findings highlight the urgency of integrated actions between hospitals, government, and society to improve waste management, reduce environmental impacts, and protect public health, in alignment with national policies and sustainability guidelines. Originality/Value: This study contributes by highlighting the reality of university hospitals and mapping sustainable solutions, offering support to strengthen public policies and effective practices in the hospital sector with a focus on socio-environmental responsibility.

The purpose of this experience report was to present the partial results, potentials, and reflections on the implementation of the Information and Communication Network on the Exposure of Workers to Sars-CoV-2 in Brazil. This Information and Communication Network seeks to contribute to the production and dissemination of information on combating the pandemic, disseminating health prevention norms and guidelines for workers who are performing on-site activities in various productive branches during the pandemic. Simultaneously, the Network developed instruments to record the exposure situation of these workers, due to the interinstitutional action of the teaching and research units, services, and the representation of organized civil society. The integrated information and communication actions aim to articulate knowledge, practices and public policies with the objective of strengthening the National Policy for Workers’ Health and actions aimed at promoting health in populations exposed occupationally and environmentally to Sars-CoV-2.
