Microbes play crucial functions in maintaining the health and growth of the plants directly or indirectly by supplying nutrients. These microbes could be used as biofertilizers for the enhancement of soil health and growth of crops. In preset investigation, potential microbes from endophytic and rhizospheric region of Aegilops kotschyi growing in green slopes of Shivaliks, Himachal Pradesh were sorted out and screened for plant growth promoting attributes including phosphorus and potassium solubilization. The potential bacterial strains were identified through 16S rRNA gene sequencing and developed as microbial consortium for the plant growth of wheat and wild wheat relative Aegilops kotschyi. A total 125 isolates of bacteria were sorted out and among them 36 were found as P-solubilizers and 19 showed K-solubilization attribute and two highly potential bacterial strain were identified as Bacillus tropicus EU-ARP-44 (P-solubilizer; 270.5 ± 0.00 mg L-1) and B. megaterium EU-ARK-23 (K-Solubilizer; 51.3 ± 1.7 mg mL-1). The microbial consortium of Rahnella sp. strain EU-A3SNfb (N-fixer; MN294545), B. tropicus EU-ARP-44 (P-solubilizer) and B. megaterium EU-ARK-23 (K-solubilizer) evaluation in Aegilops kotschyi and wheat crop resulted in the enhancement of growth as well as physiological parameter including shoot/root length, fresh/dry weight and chlorophyll, carotenoid, total soluble sugar content, phenolic and flavonoid content as compared to un-inoculated control. Microbial consortium consisting of potential plant growth promoting (PGP) bacterial strains could be used as biofertilizer and bioinoculants in cereals crop growing in hilly region.

Potassium (K) is the foremost macronutrients for growth of plant, soil health and fertility. The huge application of NPK chemical fertilizers negatively impacts the economy and is a threat to environmental sustainability. The rapid depletion of K mineral in soil is due to the application of agrochemicals agricultural fields for the production of crops in India. In present investigation, K-solubilizing microbes (KSM) were isolated and enumerated from cereal crops growing in Sirmour Himachal Pradesh. A total 125 bacteria were isolated and screened for K- solubilization on Aleksandrov agar plates and found that 31 bacterial strains exhibited K-solubilization. These 31 K-solubilizing strains of bacteria were additionally screened for other plant growth promoting (PGP) potential including solubilization of minerals, production of siderophores, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide and indole acetic acids. The performance of an efficient K-solubilizer was evaluated for plant growth promoting ability in pot assay under in vitro conditions. The strain EU-LWNA-25 positively influenced shoot length, fresh weight, carotenoids and total sugar content than the full dose, half dose and control. The strain enhancing physiological and growth parameters was identified by BLASTn analysis as Pseudomonas gessardii EU-LWNA-25. K-solubilizing plant growth promoting bacteria could be suitable bioinoculants for Rabi seasonal crops and overcomes the challenges of sustainable agriculture in K-deficient soil.

International interests in bioaerosols have gained an increased attention to widen the knowledge pool of their identification, distribution, and quantification. Aeromycota signify a complex and diverse group of fungi dispersed through the atmosphere. Aeromycology is an important field of research due to its important role in human health. Aeromycoflora both indoors and outdoors, are responsible for many allergies and other respiratory diseases. The present review describes the diversity of the aeromycoflora, the techniques used for sampling, identification, and taxonomic classification, and the limitations of the traditional culture-based methods as they fail to detect unculturable species. Furthermore, the spatial and temporal variability in aeromycota complicate consistent monitoring. Both indoor and outdoor environments harbor airborne fungi. The diversity in indoor environments is greatly shaped by the moisture content, building design, and ventilation, which are further taken into consideration. Further, the health impacts of the indoor and outdoor fungi have been discussed and what control measures can be taken to reduce the exposure risks and management strategies that can be adopted. Artificial intelligence (AI) can bring revolution in this field of research and can help in improving detection, monitoring, and classification of airborne fungi. The review finally outlines the emerging role of AI in aeromycology.

This document aims to assist oncologists in making clinical decisions encountered while managing their patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), specific to Indian practice, based on consensus among experts. Most patients are staged by Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) staging system which comprises patient performance status, Child-Pugh status, number and size of nodules, portal vein invasion and metastasis. Patients should receive multidisciplinary care. Surgical resection and transplant forms the mainstay of curative treatment. Ablative techniques are used for small tumours (<3 cm) in patients who are not candidates for surgical resection (Child B and C). Patients with advanced (HCC should be assessed on an individual basis to determine whether targeted therapy, interventional radiology procedures or best supportive care should be provided. In advanced HCC, immunotherapy, newer targeted therapies and modern radiation therapy have shown promising results. Patients should be offered regular surveillance after completion of curative resection or treatment of advanced disease.

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), is an important horticulture crop supporting rural economy of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Tomato crops in this geographical region are highly susceptible to plant pathogens resulting in significant loss of productivity and yield. In this study, we have determined the prevalence and causative pathogens of early blight disease affecting tomato crops in 18 geographical sites of district Sirmaur. On the basis of colony characteristics, microscopic features and ITS region sequence-based phylogenetic analysis, blight disease-associated isolates exhibited close resemblance to Alternaria alternata and other related species. These findings necessitates an integrated management strategy for effective pathogen control towards minimising the crop losses.

This consensus document is based on the guidelines related to the management of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (High grade) in the Indian population as proposed by the core expert committee. Accurate diagnosis in hematolymphoid neoplasm requires a combination of detailed history, clinical examination, and various investigations including routine laboratory tests, good quality histology section (of tumor and also bone marrow aspirate/biopsy), immunostaining, cytogenetic and molecular studies and radiology investigations. The staging system used for adult high grade lymphomas is based on the Ann Arbor system and includes various parameters like clinical, haematology, biochemistry, serology and radiology. Response should be evaluated with radiological evaluation after 3-4 cycles and at the end of treatment based on criteria including and excluding PET. Treatment of high grade lymphomas is based on histologic subtype, extent of disease, and age of the patient. Autologous stem cell transplantation after high dose chemotherapy is effective in the treatment of relapsed NHL. Newer RT techniques like 3 dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) can significantly reduce radiation doses to surrounding normal tissues in lymphoma patients. Patients should be followed up every 3 to 4 months for the first 2 years, followed by 6 monthly for the next 3 years and then annually.
