Prof. El.-Sheikh was born in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated with a chemistry degree and received his Ph. D from Cairo University. Dr. El-Sheikh is currently the head of the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Department of the Advanced Materials Division. His research interests include preparation, characterization and application of nanomaterials Dr. El-Sheikh is the author or co-author of more than 85 papers in international journals. He has also served as PI, Co-PI and member on more than 20 projects funded by different local and international funding agencies. He supervised 30 theses of Ph. D and Ms. C.
