André Gröschel studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth and graduated in 2012 working on block copolymer synthesis and hierarchical self-assembly of multicompartment nanostructures. From 2013-2015 he joined the Department of Applied Physics of the Aalto University in Helsinki pursuing his postdoc on biomimetic nanocomposites and photonic materials. In 02/2016, he received an endowed Evonik-Professorship and moved to the University of Duisburg-Essen, where was group leader in the Department of Physical Chemistry. In 2017, he was awarded an Emmy Noether Independent Research Group from the German Research Foundation. In 02/2020, he was appointed as Professor in the Physical Chemistry Institute at the University of Münster, where his group is currently located at the Center for Soft Nanoscience (SoN). He has published over 55 papers and 3 book chapters. He is member of the German Chemical Society and the German Colloid Society. He has received the Dannie Heineman Prize of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities in 2018, the Reimund Stadler Award of the GDCh in 2019, and the Zsigmondy Award in 2019. His research interests comprise block copolymer and confinement assembly, electron tomography, mesoporous microparticles, and Janus and topographic nanoparticles.
