M.P.M. Marques, FRSC Maria Paula Marques (October 1960, Portugal) received her MSc in Physical-Chemistry (1987) and her PhD (1995) from the Univ. Coimbra. M.P.M. Marques is currently a professor (with habilitation) at the Dep. Life Sciences of the Univ. Coimbra and assistant-coordinator of the R&D Unit “Molecular Physical-Chemistry”. M.P.M. Marques has authored 150 scientific papers, 8 book chapters, and co-edited 3 books. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the Clinical Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy for Medical Diagnosis (CLIRSPEC). She is a member of the editorial board of Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery. Her research is centered on the development of Pt and Pd-based anticancer agents, using vibrational spectroscopy, including neutron techniques and synchrotron-based methods.
