Saiyi Zhong is a professor and doctoral
supervisor and the South China Sea Distinguished Scholar of Guangdong Ocean
University. He is currently the vice dean of the College of Food Science and
Technology of Guangdong Ocean University, the leader of the provincial
scientific and technological innovation team “Marine Food Nutrition and
Functional Factor Research and Development Innovation Team” and a training
subject of the “Thousand Hundred and Ten Project” of the Guangdong Higher
Education University. He is also the vice president of the marine biology
branch of the Guangdong Marine Association and the director/youth working
committee member of the Guangdong Food Society. He has presided over the first
and third prizes of the China General Chamber of Commerce Science and
Technology Award, the National Commercial Science and Technology Progress
Award, and the second prize of the Guangdong Provincial Agricultural Technology
Promotion Award. His research interests are food-derived mutagens and
carcinogens; anticancer food factors; and bioactive chemopreventive food
components.
