Ekaterina N. Gorshkova, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Immunology and a Senior Research Scientist at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN). She earned her Specialist Diploma (equivalent to M.Sc.) in Biology with honours from the Faculty of Biology of UNN in 2010 and defended her Ph.D. (Candidate of Sciences) in Biological Sciences in 2014. Dr. Gorshkova has been building her academic career at her alma mater since 2008. Her research is primarily focused on the fundamental mechanisms of immune system function in both normal and pathological states, with a significant emphasis on investigating the effects of physicochemical factors on humoral and cellular immunity. She actively applies interdisciplinary approach to numerous collaborative projects in immunology, aiming to decipher the molecular mechanisms of immune response.
