Marek Koutný obtained his Mgr. and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic in 1996 and 1999, respectively. From 2007 to 2015, he was a Docent at the Faculty of Technology, later Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. In 2015, he was appointed as a professor in the field of "Environmental protection chemistry and technology". He has been a member of the Scientific Board of Tomas Bata University in Zlín since 2016.
