Prof. Dr. Carla Bittencourt received her Ph.D. in chemistry from UMONS, Belgium. She worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Warwick, U.K. She is currently a Research Associate with the Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (FRS-FNRS) and a Professor with the University of Mons, Belgium. Her research interests include surface analysis and surface modification by low-energy ion irradiation. Her research is focused on designing and tuning properties of surfaces and interfaces through post-growth treatments such as cold plasmas and low-energy ion implantation.
