Prof. Dr. Jianbo Wang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the State Key Laboratory of Hybrid Rice, College of Life Sciences, Wuhan University. He has worked at this university since 1987 and served successively as a teaching assistant from 1987 to 1991, lecturer for 4 years and associate professor from 1995 to 2000. He received a PhD at the College of Life Sciences, Wuhan University in 1996. He also serves as a member of the Higher Education Biology Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, the council chairman of the Hubei Society of Cell Biology, and an editorial board member of Agronomy, etc. His main research areas and interests are gene expression regulation during the development of male and female gametophytes and embryonic development in plants, as well as genome evolution and gene expression regulation in polyploid plants.
