Shanjun Liu received a B.E. degree in Mineral Survey and Exploration from the Institute of Hebei Mine Technology in 1988, an M.E. degree in Mineral Survey and Exploration from the University of Science & Technology Beijing in 1995, and a PhD degree in Geodesy and Surveying Engineering from the China University of Mining and Technology in 2003. From 1998 to 2006, he served as Lecturer at the Institute of Technology of Hebei. Since 2007, he has been the Associate Director of the Institute for Geo-informatics & Digital Mine Research, Northeast University. His research interests include hazard detection and disaster remote sensing. He is a Committee Member of the China Association of Remote Sensing Application, the Mine Survey Commission of China Coal Society, and the Space Observation Commission of the China Seismology Society.
