Jesús del Val García is an assistant professor at the Defense University Center at the Spanish Naval Academy (Spain). He received his PhD in Applied Physics (2015) from the University of Vigo and completed postdoctoral stays at Columbia University (Department of Mechanical Engineering) and the Imperial College London (Department of Materials). His research activities are focused on the applications of lasers in materials processing (laser cladding, laser surface engineering), laser synthesis of nanomaterials, and on the synthesis and applications of lasers to modify bioactive glasses. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and patents.
