Alessandra Tolomelli received a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 1999 from the University of Bologna. In 2007, she became a researcher in the Department of Chemistry "Giacomo Ciamician" of the University of Bologna, and in 2018, she took on the role of Associate Professor. Her research interests mainly concern the synthesis of sustainable synthesis of bioactive peptides, peptidomimetics, and oligonucleotides. In particular, she is interested in ligands of biological receptors, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs, using asymmetric synthesis techniques and biocatalysis. She is also currently the Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Chemical Innovation and Regulation at the University of Bologna.
