João F. A. Martins (IEEE Senior Member) received his graduate degree in electrical engineering from the Instituto Superior Teìcnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal, in 1990, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from IST, Technical University of Lisbon, in 1996 and 2003, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor at NOVA FCT, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Lisbon. He is also with the Center of Technology and Systems, UNINOVA, Lisbon, where he integrates the Board of Directors. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 scientific articles in refereed journals and books and more than 200 articles in refereed conference proceedings.
