This study examined the effects of high-performance work practices on turnover intention through the mediating role of employee morale. The study also examined the extent to which psychological capital could moderate the relationship between employee morale and turnover intention. With the aid of questionnaire administration, the study collected 469 valid responses from frontline employees in the hospitality sector of Ghana. Findings from the hierarchical regression analysis showed that training and empowerment had a significant influence on turnover intention. Training and reward also had a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Empowerment, on the other hand, had a significant positive influence on affective organizational commitment. Both affective organizational commitment and job satisfaction significantly influenced turnover intention. Optimism and resilience moderated the relationship between affective organizational commitment and turnover intention. Also, self-efficacy moderated the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention. The study offers some implications and suggestions for future studies in the main text.

The study investigated the effects of banking system stability on economic sustainability from the perspective of 37 developing economies for the period 2000-2016. The study applied panel data models precisely fixed effects and random effects models. Hausman test of endogeneity revealed fixed effects model as the most appropriate in all estimations. Our empirical analysis revealed the following key findings: First, the study revealed that banking system z-scores has positive effect on economic sustainability of developing economies while banking system regulatory capital and bank credit have negative effects on economic sustainability among selected developing economies. Second, while banking system z-scores, bank liquid assets and bank credit have positive effects on economic sustainability of BRICS economies, bank liquid assets and bank credit have negative effects on economic sustainability of non-BRICS economies except banking system zscores, which has a positive effect. In addition, banking system z-scores has positive effect on economic sustainability of Asian and non-Asian economies. However, non-performing loans and bank credit has negative effects on economic sustainability of Asian economies while banking system regulatory capital has negative effect on economic sustainability of non-Asian economies. We conclude that banking system stability play a role in economic sustainability developing economies. However, banking system stability has differing effects on economic sustainability of BRICS and non-BRICS economies; and Asian and non-Asian economies.
Environmental expenditures (EX) are made by the government and industries which are either long-term or short-term investments. The principal target of EX is to eliminate environmental hazards, promote sustainable natural resources, and improve environmental quality (EQ). Thus, this study looks at the impact of economic growth (EG), and government finance expenditure (GEX) on EQ in Northern Africa and Southern Africa (NASA) republics from 2000–2016. The panel quantile regression (PQR) and panel vector autoregressive (PVAR) model in a generalized method of moment framework (GMM) were employed as a framework. The PQR results show that; (i) In Northern republics, GEX had a significant positive effect on EQ at 25%, 50%, and 75% quantiles levels. (ii) In the Southern republics, GEX had a significant negative impact on EQ at 25%. Moreover, the PVAR through the GMM established that EG and GEX are significantly positive while the parameter for CO2 is insignificant and negative in the North. However, in the South, GEX and CO2 were statistically significant, while EG positively impacts EQ. Lastly, the granger causality report in North indicates uni-directional causation running from LNGEX → LNGDPpc, LNCO2 → LNGDPpc, LNFF → LNGEX, and LNFDI → LNGEX. Similarly, there is uni-directional causation in South republics from LNGEX → LNGDPpc, LNCO2 → LNGEX, and LNFDI → LNGEX.
