Sara Cattaneo is a full professor at Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches classes on reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and structural design. She graduated in civil (structural) engineering at Politecnico of Milan, where she obtained a Ph.D. in structural engineering. Her research activity is mainly focused on the study of high-performance and self-compacting concrete, local steel-concrete bond relationships, constitutive laws for concrete mixes, damage and fracture of materials with quasi-brittle behavior, dimensional effects, structural anchors, structural glass, concrete-FRP interface bond, masonry-FRP, and structural fastenings. She was involved in several research projects (both national and
European) and EOTA WG on structural anchors as a designated member of the Italian TAB (STC). Since 1999, she spent some periods of time at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA), where she
was also invited as a visiting professor.
