Dr. Anni Yang is an assistant professor at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma. As a health and medical geographer, her research focuses on infectious disease transmissions, spatial epidemiology, and environmental and public health. Her research emphasizes the importance of One Health triad, which encompasses the interconnectedness of human health, animal health, and environmental health. Research in her lab focuses on the following directions: (1) spatial explicit disease transmission models in animal health: She leverages models from movement ecology, disease ecology, and numerical epidemiology to study multiple emerging infectious disease transmissions. (2) Geohealth and environmental health: She applies GIScience, remote sensing, and geospatial modeling to study public and environmental health. (3) Environmental sustainability: She applies GIS and spatial analytics to study research topics related to environmental sustainability.
