Biography

Maria Doroteia Campos received a BSc in Agricultural Engineering (scientific–technological branch) and PhD in Agricultural Sciences (specialization in Biotechnology) from the University of Évora in 1998 and 2016, respectively, and her MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Horticulture from the University of Lisbon in 2003. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Plant Science at the University of Évora and a Researcher at the MED’s Plant Protection, Genetics, and Biotechnology Group. She has developed her scientific career focusing on the molecular response of plants to environmental constraints, both abiotic and biotic. In this line, her current interests lie in the question of how plant-specific gene dynamics are involved in responses to pathogens, for the development of new strategies for sustainable plant protection.
