Dr. William D. Hutchison is an Emeritus Professor, Dept. of Entomology, at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus, USA. His primary research focus is on early detection and rapid response regarding invasive arthropod species, including the impact of global climate change. For both invasive and endemic pests, a long-term goal is the development of sustainable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions for fruit and vegetable growers. He is also active in the process of understanding the dynamics of areawide pest suppression via generically engineered (GE) crops, including economic and environmental benefits.
