Altino Branco Choupin is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. He graduated in Biology from the University of the Azores-Portugal (1986), thereafter gaining a master’s in Biotechnology from the University of Lisbon (1994), and completing his PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Lisbon (2001) and Postdoc in Biotechnology from the University of Salamanca-Spain. Altino has 40 years of service as a Professor and Researcher at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. His areas of interest are biotechnology research involving molecular factors in phytopathogenic microorganisms, genetic expression and metagenomics. He is a member of the Portuguese Society of Genetics.
